The 2009 Black Heritage Day celebration will be held Friday, March 6.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ spotlights the contributions of black pioneers to the cultural achievement and heritage of the city of Houston and the state of Texas on this day. Schools, youth groups and other special entertainment performs around Reliant Park throughout the day. The 2008 Black Heritage Day entertainer, John Legend, played for 53,766 Black Heritage Day attendees.
